Emotionally Focused Therapy

EFT is the only empirically validated model for couples therapy.  The research findings show that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and 90% show significant improvements.

EFT is a couples therapy model in which the rigid, negative interactional patterns are seen as the reason for disconnection in the couple relationship. These patterns become the couple’s negative cycle, which is shifted into a new and positive interaction when underlying emotions are identified and expressed in therapy. Once couples have restructured their interactions, a safe and secure base is created in the relationship. From there, many couples will find they can more easily discover and implement solutions to issues that plagued their relationships prior. EFT is the pathway to creating clear and improved communication in a relationship.
